How To Build On Sand

And so I finally embed demons in my chest that make their way from my heart up to my bombed out head. And so I finally find out you're nothing but passing time; a leaking tub, a hand of sand that's dripping through my mind. The clocks in my house can't close their eyes. If my hands were not tied onto my own pride I really think I'd need this. I really think I need you. If I speak one more word you'll never sleep again. I'm never home.

Call us the shorelines. We hold back bright eyes beaches from burning seas. Call this the high tide. We wake up, we are in flames. Our beds are shipwrecks. Our legs twitch S.O.S. But one part still sleeps, one part still ruins his teeth. My pain is my plank, my past what keeps me here. Call this the low tide. We shrink. Our thin skin grows huge. Up to its full bloom, darlings, keep your hearts cold. So they won't burst. Scattered over the dunes our hate lasts longer.

She seems like a leaf as the paint runs down her cheeks and reveals pale faced scribbled sheets. He talks about the reef like an old friend he will see. And I guess this is all he has. This is all we have. No, I will never exit this.

In Your Hands

I sleep in this tower. I share my days with daydreams. I spend my nights without sleep. I sleep in this tower with my shaking eyelids and my locked out ribcage. But the light here is low. You were so low. All my entwining thoughts, my dreams, my hopes are thorns. One branch for one day. One life to cut one off. I'm still in your hands. Weightlessness is downfall. The impact kills you, neither the jump, nor the fall.

Is it true that all sent up stones one day come down on you? My feet touch dew wet grass that almost turned into icy glass. If there is a place so full of fresh air, then there is a line you've left on your way. On which beauty lies on every step. But I'm in the back I hide from your stairs.
